I can’t say I was skeptical of Doulas, but I did wonder “is it worth it?” I have always been a determined person and thought “I can save some money and do this on my own.” I had a dream of an unmedicated vaginal birth after C-section. I did so much research and preparation on my own up to my third trimester.
I’m crunchy, but my husband, he’s… whatever the opposite of crunchy is — and that’s exactly why our doula team was essential. They didn’t just “support” us; they became the bridge between my instincts and my husband’s logic.
Your birth may not always go as planned and that’s exactly why you should have a doula!!!! Lauren was the best throughout my entire pregnancy and birth. We had a plan for a natural birth but my sweet girl came early.
Lauren was so helpful throughout my pregnancy. She offered lots of informative science based advice. During labor she created a calm, encouraging environment. I will most definitely be using her again!
