About this directory
discoverdoulas.com is an independent directory of 9,002 doulas across 51 US states — birth doulas, postpartum and overnight doulas, and end-of-life (death) doulas, listed so families can actually find them.
Where the data comes from
Listings are compiled from public map and business data, then filtered to genuine doula practices — we remove midwifery clinics, daycare centers, and unrelated businesses that clutter generic map searches for "doula." On top of the listings, we mine each doula's own website and public client reviews for the signals families care about: specialties (VBAC, twins, hypnobirthing, lactation and more), certifications, whether they offer overnight care, and whether they mention taking insurance or Medicaid. We re-crawl the dataset on a rolling basis to catch practices that close, move, or open.
We never invent facts about a doula. If a listing shows a badge or specialty, it's because their own listing, website, or client reviews say so.
The important disclaimer
Doulas provide non-medical physical, emotional, and informational support. They do not deliver babies, perform clinical tasks, diagnose, or treat — and they do not replace midwives, doctors, nurses, or hospice clinicians. Nothing on this site is medical advice; always consult your healthcare provider about your care.
Corrections and claiming your listing
Every doula page links to the doula's own website when they have one. If you're a doula and want a correction — service area, contact details, specialties, or a listing that shouldn't be here at all — email hello@discoverdoulas.com from an address at your practice's domain (or your practice's public social account) and we'll fix or remove it. Claiming your listing is free.
