What families say
Mel was the PERFECT doula for us. My spouse is trans nonbinary, and we knew how crucial a queer-affirming doula would be, but that was only the beginning of Mel's amazing support for us.
Where do I begin? Mel was so supportive from the moment my husband and I first reached out to them. I had met with a few other doulas and Mel asked one specific question that made my decision so clear.
Mel was my doula for our little one's planned home birth this April and it was an extremely positive experience. As a trans person and as a neurodivergent person, I had several overlapping concerns about giving birth in a hospital environment, so we'd originally decided to use a birth center for our care.
Mel was truly born to be in this work, and it shows at every birth. I have gotten the opportunity to work along side Mel in homebirth settings, as well as at the birth center I work at, and each time I’m amazed by Mel’s steadfast support, wealth of knowledge, and respect for the birth space.
