After having a complicated and stressful first pregnancy and labor and delivery, I knew that I wanted to have the presence, support, and knowledge of a doula for my second. I began looking for a doula very shortly after becoming pregnant.
Teri isn’t only a doula. She was a counselor, advocate, teacher, photographer and DJ. I could write a book on how truly thankful I am for her supporting me the way she did. For context, this was my second baby. I was high risk due to a previous preterm birth.
Teri came to my twin home birth pretty much spur of the moment. I went into labor quickly before my midwife had time to arrive and Teri came as quick as she could to assist my husband and i in the first twins birth. Things might have gone completely differently is she wasn’t there to help.
She was amazing! Listened and was there for me through all of the emotional rollercoaster that was having my first child. The birth itself was difficult and she was in the room with me the entire time supporting me and my husband.
