I had never heard of a postpartum doula, let alone considered hiring one, until I had been alone on maternity leave for a few weeks with no help and no family around. Beth came in to our home with her warm, serene and calming energy and immediately lifted so much weight off both mine and my husband's shoulders.
I am so pleased Beth came into my life. She floated into our home for post partum care with a calm presence. She was a natural with the baby and supportive of me as a mother with her knowledge and suggestions, as well as very intuitive.
Beth was efficient, kind and had a quiet energy that was perfect for a postpartum household. In just a few hours she would do a couple of loads of laundry, the dishes, make me breakfast, prep snacks for the rest of the week, advise on breastfeeding, and leave me with a bouquet picked from my garden.
I can’t say enough positive things about Beth! She has been an invaluable resource to our family during our “fourth trimester”. This was our first baby and we knew ahead of time that I would have to have a c-section (breech) so Beth was at our home an hour after we got home from the hospital.
