29 end-of-life doulas serve families in Florida, in and around North Miami Beach, Jacksonville, Pensacola, Dunedin and 19 more communities. Choosing a death doula in Florida
Start with a conversation — nearly every doula offers a first call at no charge, and this is work where the fit of the person matters more than anything on paper. It's fair to ask how they've supported situations like yours (hospice at home, a long illness, young children in the family), where they trained (INELDA and NEDA are the most established programs), and how they work with the hospice team. Most charge $25–100 an hour or a flat package covering planning, vigil, and follow-up; many offer sliding-scale fees, so cost alone shouldn't stop you from calling.
If distance is a factor, note that many doulas travel across their region for vigil work, and much of the planning and legacy work can happen by phone or video — so a doula a town or two away is still worth the call.
